Questions - who you would be working with, and plain answers.

Silica Works is two people on purpose. The ones you brief are the ones who design it, build it and answer every question on this page, so nothing gets lost between the first call and the last deploy.

Do you work with teams outside your timezone?

You

Every day, and it is never the problem people expect.

We keep a few overlapping hours for live calls and run the rest async on a shared board, so the work never waits on a clock.

Al · Founder

What does a project usually cost?

You

A fixed number, agreed before anyone writes code.

We scope the work properly, then quote it. If the brief grows we price the change and you decide - the figure never moves on its own.

How long does a website take?

You

Most land in four to eight weeks.

You see something real in the first week rather than the ninth, and every week after that ends on a working build you can click through.

Name · Partner

Who actually owns the work?

You

You do, in full, the day it ships.

Source, files, accounts and domains all transfer across. No lock-in and no platform you have to keep paying us for - it is yours to run, change or take elsewhere.

Al · Founder

How do you handle security?

You

As part of the build, not a pass at the end of it.

Input validation, least-privilege access, proper secrets handling, rate limiting and audit logs land in the first commit. You get the reasoning written down, not just the result.

Al · Founder

Can you work with our existing site or code?

You

Yes, and we will tell you honestly if it is worth keeping.

It starts with an audit. Sometimes the right move is a careful refactor, sometimes a rebuild - either way you see the trade-offs before you pay for either.

Al · Founder

What happens after launch?

You

We do not disappear the moment it goes live.

Thirty days of support come with every build, to catch whatever only shows up under real traffic. After that we are one message away, on a retainer or not.

Is it really just the two of you?

You

Yes, and that is the point.

The people you brief are the people who build it. No account managers and no handoffs, so nothing is lost between the pitch and the launch.

Al · Founder

Still got one we have not answered?

Ask it here. It lands straight in your project brief, and we reply within a working day.
